Looking Back Over a Truly Amazing Year

It wasn’t all that long ago that I honestly thought the best life had to offer me was behind me and I had fucked it all up and missed out on my happily ever after.  And then I got my shit together, and discovered that life, and happiness is a do-it-yourself job.  2015 was a pretty amazing year for me.

Earl Grey

2015 was the Year of Earl Christian Watson Grey, possibly the most photogenic cat on Facebook.

I have posted more often than not that Earl Grey is an asshole, and he truly is.  But he’s an adorable asshole who is also an attention whore.

My Girls

I got to go to Jefferson City and photograph Meredith’s Senior Prom, and watch her graduate high school.

And then the girls came and spent a weekend with me, and we spent the day at Six Flags.

2015 was the year I got to travel and see new places.  In October I flew to Boston, with layovers in New York and New Jersey.

I toured the Samuel Adams Brewery and got to sample several of their beers and had the absolute BEST guide ever.  It was a lot of fun, even before we got the free beer.

And then I went to Harvard.

To be honest, there was a time in the not so distant past that I was convinced that love was just not in the cards for me.  That I really would be happier alone, and that nobody really would love me.   I had failed at love so many painful times I was just not going to put myself out there ever again.  And then Sam came along.    And so, when he asked me to walk this road of life with him, I said YES.

There are just a few days left of this year.  I always take this time to look back at how great the year has been, and I look forward to what is waiting for me in the year to come.

Happy New Year to all of you.  May 2016 bring you happiness, love and joy beyond your wildest dreams.
